    Motorguide 82 Tour Edition/Bent Shaft

Dumb me as I forgot to pull up my trolling motor as I blasted off , figured it out real quick . I have a motorguide tour edition 82 trolling motor . The shaft was bent and I tried straightening it out with moderate success. I still have a bit of a wobble and was wondering if it would be wise to replace the shaft. Is the shaft easy to replace - graphite or steel , is it hollow with just wires .. Any help or info would be appreciated
    Thanks

Easy to replace if you have a couple pipe wrenches. Just a few wires running through the stainless steel shaft. Need to remove the collar with an Allen wrench, remove the cable gear and take it apart with a little heAt applied to the threads on the motor. I done it a bunch of times and can do it in about 30 min but my first time was about 3 hours.

If it is a MG Tour, your only option is stainless steel. There is not a composite shaft available for a MG Tour. I would also change the shaft bearings at the same time.
