    Just WOW!!

Raymarine once again upgrades their units to keep anglers from having to pony up on newer units. So now instead for having to go out and buy a ice fishing graph, they can just take the one off the boat when the lakes ice over.

How is this transducer different from the regular 2D? Or different from HB’s 360?

    1. It’s CHIRP Sonar - not 600W sonar
    2. HB doesn’t have 360 ice - not sure what you question is. Also, in general, a flasher/vertical flasher is not 360.

I take ice fishing the same as stationary fishing (such as vertical dropshot; boat is anchored). HB’s 360 rotates to get 360 degree view. Lowrance has a similar one called spotlight which needs TM or other fixture to rotate. Both of them are for stationary fish which I think could include ice fishing as well.

Seems this raymarine ducer is still FIXED 2D , so I don’t see how it is different.

Apples and oranges. Raymarine transducer in the ice kit is the conical CHIRP only part of the DVS transducer. That ducer and A-Scope has been available for years. When ice fishing, an 8” long ducer doesn’t work well in a 6”-8” hole - that why there are “teardrops”.

HB 360 is not conical sonar. .

HB DOES have units for ICE fishing and a ICE fishing transducers with a float:

Looks like Raymarine copied Humminbird's equipment.

Never said they didn’t have ice...OP asked about 360. There isn’t 360 for ice.

Also, the HB Images are a dial flasher. Not sure how a vertical flasher is a copy of a dial???

Not sure what you point is???

The 360 is used for ice fishing it's been done for about five years. When the first 360 model came out that was a transom version, some where attaching it to a ATV and parking it over a hole through the ice to deploy it--it is electric deploy/retract. The 360 trolling motor version is also used for ice fishing--less bulky.
Those images are a with a Side Imaging unit with ICE fishing settings. All Humminbird units have the RTS (Real Time Sonar) window on the right side of the 2D sonar and Down Imaging views that is the same as the "vertical flasher" in your post.

So this ducer is basically the one used by Dragonfly pro 7, but in a shorter design?

So back to the original post...360 and and CHIRP Sonar / A-Scope are different technologies and not an apples to apples comparison.

Yes HB has one that you have to purchase separately, and you can take it and mount it in your boat with extra mount, transducer etc.

Raymarine allows you to just use the unit you already have.
So for 199.00 you can take your existing unit out on the ice with you, Or start fresh with a new unit if you don’t already have one,

Correct, it’s the CHIRP Sonar portion only in a teardrop design. Makes using in a 6”-8” hole easier. No added features that current units don’t have.
