I flip the visor up at idle speed. I have never had it fog at speed.

I just wear a full ski mask and sunglasses then bundle up. And SLOW DOWN. My boat only tops out around 40 anyway and I don't fish tournaments. When fishing with my buddy in the winter I just put my hood up and sit on the edge of the front deck facing backwards. He makes his Charger crawl when it's cold too and me on the front deck helps keep the nose down.

I won't entertain the idea of a full face helmet or any kind of helmet just for this simple reason.
Every boat racer has to wear a helmet you'll be glad you did if your thrown out of the boat and bounce off the side or console of the boat.

Been fishing and running in thee cold for years. I can tell you first hand, your jaws will freeze with the save phace (worthless for winter runs). Haven't tried a helmet, because of safety reasons but a few others mentioned and I completely agree, a Serius neoprene fleece lined face ski mask with ski goggles is the way to go. The only addition that I now use is a genuine Bomber brand hat with real rabbii fur. You look like hell but I promise your head will not get cold, even on a long 70 mph run in the 20's w

One of the helmets that have a 12V heater and defroster would be nice.

I can't but anything is possible in those kinds of situations.

Back edge or front edge or any edge of the helmet...the possibility is there and while it may be slim why take the chance if there is a safer alternative?

In a racing situation I can totally understand the need for a helmet. Being bounced out a boat that you are strapped into "could" cause some issues. Not to mention that there may be some flying debris and the other competitors still on course. When I get into a racing situation in my boat....I'll put one on.

Definitely a helmet works best, but I have found this to be the best when I don't wear a helmet. Keeps the wind off your head.

So there is no documented evidence this has ever happened (literally 0%) and you are looking for something safer than that? Good luck with the quest.

So the edge of a pair goggles or a save face could catch water also?
i don't know if anyone should strap the helmet on in a boat but your head is in the helmet so it's not like you have an empty bucket on

How much to just coat my mask/lens, not custom paint?

    Thanks,

I use a Save Phace with Overcast sunglasses underneath. I remove the lens from the SP.
