    Prop Suggestions

I'm Running 23P Yamaha prop on a 200SHO 4 stroke, (2011 Z518 Ranger power pole an no jack plate). I have decent hole shot but top end is at 66-67mph at 5800-6000 rpm's. I am wanting to try new prop to get better top end without sacrificing to much hole hot. Should I go to a 24P or 25P and what about a jack plate??

Unless you are hitting the rev limiter, Going up in pitch will possibly slow you down and reduce holeshot performance.

What effect would a jackplate have on the performance?

In my experience you have to turn over 6000 rpms with a SHO to gain optimal performance. Going up in pitch won't do that.

For whatever the SHO finds a whole other gear when it climbs above 6000 rpms. Someone with a lot more knowledge of how motors work may be able to explain it.

Raising the motor reduces drag and increases speed and rpms............ If the prop can still have enough bite to carry the bow, And if you maintsin safe water pressure.
