    FLW Costa Boat???

I am currently signed up for FLW Costa, (Schedule Big-O, Chick, Santee) I currently own a BassCat Pantera 2, may sell for a Skeeter ZX225. Do yall think the Cat will be enough boat and get it done or should I Upgrade?

never fished big-o or santee, but you dont need a 20' plus boat on Chic.

    Just win one.
As noted above you won't need one on Chick and that big Ranger didn't help during the Costa last year on the Big O as a co angler was lost.

. I was just saying from a size standpoint. It has a 43 gallon tank and may or may not be getting a new 200 SHO in the 2 weeks so it can def get to where i need to go. just worried if it gets rough

I've been fishing out of my 18' ranger aluminum while I'm waiting on my new cat. It's been kind of fun watching peoples face in they're $60k rigs as we pull our fish out and take they're money. A P2 will be fine. My beer can with a 115 catches them just as good.

Your boat is fine. Spend your time worrying about finding fish.

It doesn't matter what boat you are in if it gets really rough. Big O and Santee are both infamous for how rough it gets out there. Fishing the Costas the most important thing will be for you to get out on the water plenty and learn the lake. Out on Santee there are stumps in the channel lanes. You learn to drive out there by running it often, marking trails and just paying attention. As far as gas goes, Unless you are running a 25yr old EFI, a 44 gallon tank will get you where you want to go and back on most of the SE lakes.

P2 is fine. On Okeechobee you don't have to run across open water much, run the rim ditch or pig trails. Plus the P2 is as fast as a lot of bigger boats with 250's.

The ZX225 isn't all that much bigger that the Pantera. The type of rough you're talking about would not be comfortable in either boat. I'd keep the Car, see how it goes for the season, and re-evaluate. Heck, you could win a boat.

You guys are the bomb. Make a lot of sense. Gonna repower the P2 with a 200 SHO and call it a day. Sounds like tournament load will see around the 70 mark so that’ll make a long run very doable

You kin also reflash the SHO to a 250. But maybe only after warranty?

If you buying a new Sho, you might as well get a new boat. There will be more room for your co-angler too.
