    Winterizing 2009 Etec

Unfortunately the Winter has caught up to me quickly. Usually we have a couple more trips before the Winter nap. It appears the comd is here to stay for the year. My question is how do I make sure all of the water is out of the engine after the winterization mode on the outboard? Will trimming it down remove enough of the water in the engine or should I remove the thermostats and pour RV anti freeze in it?

Trimming the engine down is all you need to do.

Unlike a car, or an RV, your outboard cooling system is not closed. So any small amount of residual water, if it turns to ice, will not harm the internals of your engine as it expands.
