    Johnson 25HP parts.

    I bought a 25 hp Johnson from a widow to kind of help her out Serial # E5435312, model # J25RC1M.Does anyone know if parts are still available for this engine ?

    Looks like that 6th digit in the model # is an "I" instead of a 1. 1981 25hp sound about right?

    All the major parts look to be available: ignition, fuel, cooling, carbs etc....

    Yep, 1981 sounds about right, still has the shear pin prop. I wondering if this was flywheel rated HP or prop shaft, I don't remember when the rating was changed. Thanks.

    If I remember correctly, Suzuki came out with their 140 prop rated horsepower engine, the OMC and Merc 150 flywheel rated engines didn't fair to well against them. The next year they were prop rated.
