Basscla has it right. Mine retired in July this year, I've been retired since Sep. 2010. I've found out I have a lot of bad habits like taking a nap at noon, having a beer at noon, having a buddy call to go fishing or that Sam's Bait and Tackle is having a hot sale noon to 4. Well you get the picture.

I found it amazing how long I can lay back in my recliner sleeping, without really being asleep.

If she starts bothering you just bring up sex that will buy you a couple of hours of peace and quiet.

My wife has her kitchen. I have my man-cave downstairs. I am allowed into her kitchen for meals--and at clean up time. She never comes downstairs--just like I like it.

I have a 4 car garage that is 80 feet from the back door. Comfy chair, cable tv, radio, boat, fishing tackle, work bench,etc.. That’s how we have been married for 45 years.

Eventually I want something like this. I'm not sure my wife will know I exist once it happens. Lol

I say when she retires take a 2 month vacation to lake fork. Then you can at least go fishing twice a week without too much hassle. Also you'll probably find a way to catch your PB largemouth.

We had the same scenario in our house. I must admit my first 2 years of retirement were nice and quiet. My wife retired mid July and it's not been a problem. My wife has always been a hard worker and doesn't have any hobbies or past time activities. I made it clear to her (in a nice way) that she needed to find way to occupy her time because I'm not gonna occupy her 27/7. She has found things to do and come fishing with me sometimes and we really enjoy the time together...yes she catches more fish than I do. Not sure what my handicap is for baiting her hook and releasing her fish, but I'm working on that. HOWEVER I do find myself needing to have alone QUIET time to myself and thankfully I have a nice garage to hide in plus I have a small business that get me out 2-3 days a week for the mornings.

Hopefully your wife has some interests that she can pursue that will keep her busy. I love my wife dearly but I can't spend all day every day with her.
