This was killed last week by a guy i know. Could be the new record. The deer broke off 2 drop tines after he shot and it crashed into a tree. So at the time he shot it it was the biggest deer ever shot. He found the drop tines and with them the rough score was 338 inches

I don't believe firearms season has opened yet in Illinois. I know shotgun opens next Friday

Believe me, I know the difference. I probably see more big deer with horns/antlers that would make many deer hunters jealous on my daily walk. than most ever see. They are starting to chase here right now and I've been in danger of getting trampled the last 2 weeks. The next 2 weeks, I might walk at the gym because the rut will be in full force and scary.

I'm amazed at the sour faces with these monster bucks...I smile proudly with my lil 17 in 8 pointer that I took with my muzzleloader the other evening...don't need no scowl on my face...helluva buck...

The wife and I went for a drive today about 10am. I look over in a field and see a big buck just standing out in the open. I say there is something you dont see in the middle of the day very often. I slow down a bit for a better look and there is a doe bedded about 20 yards in front of him. Yup it is on around here too.

Yes sir. Saw a huge 8 this morning standing over a doe that had her tongue hanging out and looked like she was too worn out to stand.
