    Resting a smoked pork butt

I have a styrofoam shipping box to use for letting the butt rest before pulling.

What are the minimum and maximum time for it to be in the box?

They will keep several hrs if you use a lot of towels. I kept some 4 + hrs a couple weeks ago.

I stick mine in a 48 qt. cooler wrapped in aluminum foil for about two hours...and the same for brisket...

There's no min time. We've kept butts warm in cambro 6+ hours before turning them in for a comp. and serving at events.
