    Ranger VS1682SC Setup

My dad purchased one of these last year and it has the 90 HP Mercury 4 stroke on it...currently its running a 3 blade SS prop (not sure on pitch or what model) but boat has slow holeshot and once wide open and on plane it plows water like crazy....trimming up at all results in the motor "blowing out" and revs jumping up with no real increase or increased lift...

anyone else running one of these boats and if so what is your setup? thinking he needs a four blade for now...Marina he bought it from says its setup like every other one they sell but it can't be right.

    Sounds like a height issue.

thats what we thought but the marina said the motor is mounted on the same holes as every other one....seems too high to me with the blow out.

So what hole is it set in. Your combo shouldn’t be but the 2nd hole down or top hole.
