I remember the 92/93, first production run of the Stinson/Bentz 201 hull set speed records with limited edition 225XP. My 93 was the fastest 201 I ever owned.

Some say 100 were produced but I am thinking product stopped short of that number and it was 67 or low 70 made. Either way finding one for sale is hard but someone did post a link for one for sale in that thread. You had better be an experienced driver to drive an ASX because once it lifted up on the back part of the pad it can become a handful to drive but it is the fastest stock Stratos ever made.
For that size boat the 294 would flat out go

In order...
ASX...upper 80 with 250 HP, lower/mid 80's with 225 HP
Stratos 200...upper 70's with 225 HP (max HP rating was 225)
Stratos 201* now there was rumor there was a certain year classes of 201 that was faster than a typical 201. Rumor was they had a "special" mold that was known to be 2-4 mph faster. A typical 201 at the time was running 225 HP and hitting mid 70 but one with that came from the "special" mold was upper 70's. Early 201's were rated for max HP 225. Later in life they up the max HP rating from 225 to 250 and the speed jumped about 2-3 mph with 25 extra ponies.
There was a BBC member that went by the name Grant Collins. I have not seen him on the boards in several years. If my memory is correct he had one of the "hot" hulls and tried all he could to break 80. He got to 79 and change several times but never hit 80. Again this is going off my memory from several years ago.
Stratos 294..low to mid 70's with 200 which is max HP rating
The fastest Stratos I know of was called Evozilla...It was a 294 Evolution (mid to early 2000 model, mabey a 2010 model) with a Hydrotech Phase III kit with around 300 HP pushing the 294 into the low 90's. 200 was max HP but the person who owned it wanted to see what they could do with over-horse powering the hull.

The 201 evo hulls would come in just under the asx. Bitsy bug has seen 82 with pro xs. My 201 with pro xs will hit 78 solo light.

Correct my cousin had a 1989 201 and I was thinking it was 235 it may have well been 245. Either way at the time they were rigged with 225 hp.
The newer 201's are fast too?

From the day the 201 was born until the day it died it was always considered the flagship ride of the Stratos line up. It's speed and ride was as good or better than most boats comparable in size.
