    Fury 4 rpm question

I recently put a Fury 4 24p on my boat. 03 Ranger 521vx, 250 Evinrude DI, 6" hydraulic jackplate, 1 Powerpole blade. I only got to run it once to really test it out. It was 37 degrees outside. My rpms went up to about 6200, and they may have been able to go a little higher, but I backed off a bit. Thats too high, normal wot is 5500 to 6000. My question is, Would I benefit more by going to a 25p? That will lower rpms a bit. I am just wondering how much the cold effects my numbers there. I only run in stuff like that once or twice a year, so I am more concerned with normal summer type temps. How much should normal temp, maybe higher humidity days drop rpms? Enough that the 24 should be good, or try the 25? I should add, holeshot with the 24 is amazing! Even with full gas and livewells, so I am not worried about that part if the 25 is an option. I do want to stay with the Fury 4 I have loved it so far. Thanks for any input.

I believe you can’t go wrong with a 25p for cooler months and the 24p for the summer
heat and humidity. I absolutely love my 25p fury4 and I hit 5900 rpms with it
loaded in the summer and my max engine rpm is 6200

You may want to also have your RPM readings verified to make sure that your seeing accurate info.

I agree with this. My tachometer and smart craft gauge reads different. There is about a 200 to 300 rpm difference between the 2 on my 225 Pro XS.

How would I go about getting the most accurate reading of my rpms?

I dont think I want to take chances with this motor. Shes getting up there in age, and I know the reputation of these things. I would also like to stay in a 1 prop application. I am happy with what I got out of the 24. But by the sounds of it, the 25 should get me around 5800 rpm's normal summer usage. I think that should be perfect

Dealer can compare your gauge reading with what the computer is seeing (reading).

Dam, my 250 is a dog. I could only turn 5600,5700 on a Fury 4 24 or 25. I trim the heck out of it and can reach 68-69. My 3 blade Fury 25 about
    The same rpm at 70-71.

It is not the motor, it is the boat. You numbers are pretty close for that rig. I would be running a 24 Fury 3 though and have it prepped by Ronnie Glibert
    Thank You Leon Pugh
