I prefer 3 batteries. That way, if one fails in a tournament or trip, you can get a lead acid replacement at almost any small town, parts store, or walmart, to get you through the trip. If a 24v or 36v battery goes out, you are screwed.

Get your point, but I'm terms of performance and safety, it's the same either way? I actually have 3 new lead acids now and would keep those as a back up on trickle chargers.

    Is this verified?

Also - got a quote on these Trojan Trilliums from my local Trojan dealer... Price for a pair is as follows: $3,258 for the 92ah and $3,850 for the 110ah...

Good thing prices are coming down but for now I will stick with my Deka's. When they go sour it depends on what the Lithiums are costing then.

I wonder if that has been proven with lithium. With lead acid, when one goes out it drags the other in parallel down too. So while the 2nd battery may still be good, it is near total discharge.

I had Lithium batteries and switched back to the traditional set up. They are good but not worth the pain if they take a crap on you while fishing a tournament or fishing at all. Good luck getting one replaced at a local retailer. Not like you can swing by a auto parts store or a walmart to swap one out if it goes bad.

Just picked up my 3 Trojan 110ah lithiums from Continental Batteries today. I ordered them about a month ago. The Battery status indicator seems pretty sweet. Time will tell just need to get rid of all this snow and ice up her in Iowa!

Ouch, just thinking I could add another 12" unit to the dash for that...lol. My batteries are 1 year old, probably be shopping in about 3 years so I hope the price comes down significantly by then. Good luck with yours!

Then you would be out how many thousand and still have a lead acid battery?

If there's a warranty, it's just a holding pattern until they get replaced.

Why do you care? It's not your thousands...
