    Tstats

Since the water has cooled down seems to take a long time for Quick start to drop out. I pulled my thermostats ant they look ok no debris. the number on them is 29AT silver springs. My model number is J150GLENC. Is PN 0433395 and spring PN 0338174 the latest ones for this model ?

Marineengine.com will give you this info or Boats.net.

Check Marineengine.com. Boats.net only shows the original part number. Marineengine.com will show you the latest part #.
Latest thermostat assembly for your motor is 435597. That includes the cap, t-stat, RED spring and o-ring.

The original thermostats for the first 1991 motors, were immediately replaced by the 0433395 thermostat assembly, silver springs. headhigh is correct you need P/N 0435597. This assembly will have either the red spring or a spring with no color. Either spring is OK, the newest production assembly springs have no color, same spring, not so with the silver spring don't use it.

It's also worth noting, on boats.net, when you order that "original" part number you will receive the newest model or "version" of the OEM part. If you check between the two sites you'll see there is usually a price difference. I just go with the one that's cheaper. It's usually boats.net, but not always. Marineengine.com seems to ship quicker, but I've learned that if you look up the parts and part #'s that you need and then call boats.net and place your order over the phone, it will ship faster as long as the parts are in their warehouse.

Thanks guys. I have another question ,seems like I read somewhere that the quick start kicks out at a set temp or at 2000 rpms. Mine wont drop out at 2000 rpms only when it warms up

It kicks out when the temp gets to 105* F or the RPM's exceed 1100 RPM the lower unit needs to be submerged in the water to test correctly not on muffs.

Ok thanks. I ordered the new stats yesterday, but mine wont drop out of quick no matter how high I rev it after start up. Is this a power pack problem?

Quite possibly but before I shell out almost $300 for a pack I'd follow the test for QUICK start in the service manual.
