    There is always a difference when you have conventional lofts compared to jacked lofts. He should have hit a 6 iron blade and 7 iron cb for a better comparison.
    The MCGB's (super game improvement) irons are just too big and bulky for my taste.
    I like the blades/ progressive irons. Thinner top line, smaller head and the more you get up to the longer irons the more cavity back they become and opposite towards the wedge. Also nothing beats the feel of a bladed forged club when struck well.

    Cavity backs are better for the guys that hit the ball all over the clubface.

    Had a set of blades, Wilson Staff, many years ago, no forgiveness on miss-hits but if you can control the swing you can shape shots better, length with them was always shorter for me than when I used CB's, went up 2 club lengths. Now that I'm older with a slower swing speed and a bit less control I'll keep using the CB's.
