Once you empty it, you may want to pour some stabil in there, and then refill next year.

I fill my tank full to prevent condensation; also add two bottles of Sea-Foam and Marine Stabile to stabilize the fuel. Been doing this since 2004 and never have had a problem with my engine.

full tank of premium ethanol free gas (Shell vpower 91 here in canada) and stabilizer to reduce condensation. An empty tank can result in environmental humidity making its way into your gas tank and condensating with a temperature change resulting in water in your gas tank.

Fill my tank for N'oreaster generator reserve. Treat then pump out and into truck and put in new in spring.

also change to Winter air in the tires to prevent moisture in the rims.

Fill it up + stabil. Or if you have a way to empty completely thats probably also fine.

Filling it up was the approach before the new ethanol fuel. A full tank of gas stored over the winter can separate and be a PITA to get rid of. Leaving it as empty as possible with a good does of Stabil and StarTron in there would be the better way to go. Then in spring fill up with some high grade fuel.

Stabil is old fashion plus it has a life of 12 months to 18 months(check website)from production date. I use Star Tron too.

Treat the fuel and make sure to run it thru the engine before storing.

I've never done this, but, starting to think about it this year. Have you ever had any problems doing this? Does anybody else use the boat gas in their truck? It would be nice to use it up and then fill the boat with all fresh gas.

all these "Stabilizers" are a joke,, strip naked in the moonlight and do a dance around your boat on the winter solstice.. Works just as well.
Drain it best you can, leave it. fog cylinders . Come spring fill it from a high volume station and run it good, assuming you have a water separator to remove small amounts. If not install one. FYI newer engine fuel filters do this already.
