Zip Ties holding trolling motor wiring broke

During a recent river tourney at the lower Colorado (Yuma area) I went to get my rods out and noticed all the zip ties holding the rigging for the trolling motor had broken. I haven't looked up in there yet to see how they were attached. Anyone else have this problem? Got the boat new in 2012 its a Z7.

    Thanks in advance!

It happens.... zip ties will break over time. They get brittle. I always keep some in my boat's tool box.

I carry a bag of assorted Zip tie in my boat just for that purpose. It like going out on the water without a spare prop.

I believe the vip ties are secured by a screw or adhesive strip, if it's the screw type just cut the old tie and use the part that is the lock/screw to hold a new zip tie. If it's adhesive style put some rubber cement on both spots you plan to stick together and let them tacky up before combining. You won't be able to slide them once they touch so get it right
