    300r ?

Hey any one running the 300r. Does your motor vibrate the boat at about 3500 rpms?

Between 3000 and 3500 rpm's on all 2-Stroke V-6 Mercury's for as long as I can remember, they have a harmonic vibration that rattles everything in a boat it seems.
I guess the 4-Strokes may do the same.

Do you have the engine trimmed under all the way? If you do, bump it up off of the stops and it will smooth out.

My first prop was a 30 pro max that I loved on my 300xs but really sucked on the 4 stroke.
Then I ran a 30 bravo and it did not vibrate as much but still way to much vibration. Was on limiter with 30# water pressure
I'm going to try a 32 performer BC Saturday.

How is the performance compared to the 300 XS?

Something isn't right in the motor or the mounts doesn't sound like. Woody's 250R didn't have any vibration in it that I can remember and I drove it a good bit.

I think its the new mid-sections on the "R" engines Johnny. Mine has the vibration when the motor is down and your pecking along around 3K. The reason you guys didn't feel it is because it was jacked up and wide open for 3 days.
I just trim a bit and throttle up or down. Its feels like truly solid motor mounts. My boat is so tight that if you wasn't really looking for it, you wouldn't feel it. The first time I felt it was when storm come up on Tennessee River and that Tug had its barges shoved into the bank because the river was bad rough. Remember I called you and told you I was going to run the river and rescue the Tow boat. I dropped my plate, stuck the nose up and run the rough water. I noticed it then. Its like the rattle in my dodge cummins at a certain speed I can't find. I justify it by telling my self its all that torque. wrah, wrah.

I think Spider1 has a Stroker with no carpet. It would really be noticeable with the lids rattling.

Maybe the prop then. Promax is what I was running. I will run my Hydromotive and report back.

After reading yours and Woody's posts I too think it must be the prop. Some kind of cavitation going on at a certain rpm.
