    Top cap crack

Anyone else have there top cap crack just above the rub
rail? Mine is right behind the drivers seat and where the back deck
starts. It starts above the rub rail then dips below the rail out of site
then comes back up. Should I be conserened and have it fixed or keep
an eye on it and see if it gets worse?

Probably only cosmetic. Maybe even from a screw in your rub tail. I doubt it's anything to be concerned about but I would keep an eye on it. Just me personally, it would bother me everytime I looked at it

If its solid gel it wouldn't be that expensive to get it fixed. Flake is pretty high to get done

I'd have your dealer take a gander and maybe shoot a pic to Tim T at Phoenix. It doesn't look like to worry about, but I'd bring it up next time your near your dealer and see about getting it fixxed.

Looks like just a stress crack. Wouldn’t worry about it. Get it fixed and when it comes back it’ll look twice as bad cause theyll be more material cracked. I just let em be now and figure if I don’t want stress cracks in my boats, then I shouldn’t be buying fiberglass.

Depending on what year you have, Phoenix may cover it. I had cracks on my 2017 721 covered by Phoenix. Mine where worse than that though. Not horrible, but worse than that.

Not true on they will come back part, if repaired properly you just dont throw material on top. I have a 15 919 with over 300 hours and not one stress crack.

Talked to my dealer today he is going to fix it under warranty when I'm done for
the season. He thought a screw that holds the top cap to the bottom
is more than likely the culprit not being counter sunk properly. This is a pic of my boat
i received when it was being built the crack is right above this screw circled in the picture..

That’s the key right there...if it’s repaired properly. Then again, that’s the nature of the beast. Mine apparently were never done right and always looked worse when they reappeared. I give up on worrying about it. Now if it was more than just a stress crack, then I’d be concerned. That’s just me though.

There is a groove they cut above all those screws that I think is supposed to not let any cracks run out from them. Atleast not above that groove. That's all I could figure unless somebody knows what the real reason is
