    Portage Chain Pinckney Michigan

Caught 15 to 20 legal sized ones over on the Portage Chain last Monday. 14 to 21 feet seemed to produce best. No video this time. No lost fish this time either. lol Refreshing.

We stuck around in Little Portage and Big Portage. Caught keepers in both. Didn't venture to the other lakes this time. I do like Baseline a lot. Wish we had enough time to hit that one too. My biggest bass came from that lake few years ago.

I'm not sure why that chain is so much better than the Halfmoon chain... Same watershed and all. The 2 biggest bass that I mounted 30-35 years ago are from Big and Little Portage.

I must suck, everyone does well there but I can only get on a pattern where I catch pike consistently. Still love that chain, was out there Friday and Baseline was at 49 degrees already.

There are plenty of Pike in that chain. I only lost one lure this trip.

That 8 lber must have been a beast. I've only fished Halfmoon once. The only thing I remember from that trip was losing my camera overboard. I took off and had it laid on the back deck of the boat.
