Caught three fishing for bass in Mattawoman. Two about 3 pounds one might have gone 8 or 9. Aggressive bastiges, hit crankbaits deep.

Am I incorrect in believing there are recommended restrictions on consumption of fish caught in Potomac waters due to contaminants, particularly PCB's? I've read such lists, of fish caught in Potomac waters, recommending limited consumption (blue catfish & snakehead) to do not eat (striped bass).

So my point is, should not commercial stores selling fish known to originate from Potomac waters (I don't know if the fish in picture were) include a warning on consumption of fish they have for sale? In the photo above the store has no problem noting "fresh, wild caught" & "product of USA" on the tray of filets and that sounds good, but if they had noted the filets as fresh caught Potomac blue catfish, I would not have thought that nearly as enticing.
