    Just a guess but since he is moving to MFL next year maybe he decided the tourney was worth the expense to try to qualify for the classic one more time???

    Deep, clear water just ain't his thing and probably figured why waste his time and money. He's going to BPT and been to the classic many times so he got better things to do.

    from the Bassmaster article - "Sixteen anglers qualified for this last chance event, which will award three Classic berths. However, only 15 practiced Monday. Apparently, Greg Hackney will not compete here this week."

    He is obviously not going to be fishing the Classic.

    I like Hackney, but if he wasn't even going to bother showing up for the Classic Bracket, why not withdraw earlier and let one of the other anglers have his slot so they could try to make the Classic? I don't get that.

    Pretty sure they did away with win and you’re in. This tournament is a last chance tournament for guys that didn’t qualify for the classic. Gives them one last opportunity to make it in. I’m shocked he didn’t try to qualify for the classic.

    He's not in. He had to win a spot at the Classic Bracket to make it, and he's not fishing it, so he won't be at the Classic.

    He's not in. What's even more strange is the guy just signed with Mossy Oak and this Classic Bracket is sponsored by....Mossy Oak.

    I'd say the move to BPT was more personal than business for some, obviously.
