Yea more and more I'm researching is leading me toward the 1980 with the g2. Going to talk to dealer will see what kind of numbers the difference would be for the 2080, but for now I just can't talk myself into paying the difference for the larger boat. Now if the 20'4 2080 was rated for a 250 I would probably lean more toward it

Not everyone who is a buyer is fishing tournaments as well. Depends on the buyer, I have an 18foot Triton glass and have had no issues at all with a 24 volt system. I have Champlain, Oneida, St Lawerence etc.... No issues so far.... Yes the 36 volt will improve your longevity and power, but I am not sure thats a normal day that I am concerned about battery life. Get along just fine with my 24 volt, save some weight as well. Like I said all depends on what you need and use it for, pluses and minuses to everything. My guess is you would be just fine with 24 volts, but if you are concerned or fish big waters and dont wanna take a chance then 36 makes sense.

The less% you discharge your batteries each day fishing the longer your batteries will last. Think its referred to as depth of discharge.

4 inches makes a big difference on the ride. More HP is better. Tandem is much better. 36 Volt Troller is way better.

Every time your running down a rough azz lake, every time you get passed, first time you blow a trailer tire, and when your trolling motor runs out of juice, you're going to kick yourself for not shelling out a little more dough.

    You're welcome ...

24v fortrex on my z118 no issues at all with 2 31 size everstarts. Don't see the need for 36v and the add c weight of a 3rd battery. I'd go 36v on the 2080 because of the 200 but the 36v with the 150 is a waist in my opinion.
