    Triton Dash Trim

I have a 2001 Triton Tx-21. Triton used "woodgrain" trim on the consoles of many of its boats. The problem today is that those trim pieces are extremely hard to find.

I know I am not the only Triton owner that has this problem. Has anyone come up with a solution this problem? Some sort of lamination maybe?

I have a 2000 triton. I replaced all of mine about 5 years ago with 3/8" black HDPE. Much stronger than the original. I suppose you could have them hydro dipped but i haven't done that.

How hardy is the finish after hydro-dipping? Is it easily scratched? The original lamination was a "plastic" film that actually lasted a long time.

If it just faded. you could try Amourall trim and plastic restorer! My 99 Triton dash was faded to a gray about 2 inches around the perimeter, and very dull in the middle ! I used this stuff, (tried other products). Now the dash looks like it is almost new! I did this 4 yrs ago, and it still looks the same as when done ! Now that being said, I don't leave my boat uncovered when not in use !

The original was actually hydrodipped and is not a "plastic film". Hydrodipping is the same as your cars automotive finish and offers the same UV Protection. As far as easily scratched, depends if you would consider your car "easily scratched".

KandK did mine turned out very well. It's been hit with flying crainkbaits and everything else. Not to mention there is a ton of patterns to choose from.
