    Cutting into a funeral procession

On my way out of the driveway this morning at the shop on a road test I stop at the end of the driveway as a funeral procession is going by.. as I am waiting an employee here is coming down the road in the opposite direction (4lane divided road) he swings the corner to change directions and has to actually cut through the procession to pull into the driveway and goes by me into the yard

Trying to remain calm I nicely ask him why would you cut into a funeral procession like that and the reply was the person is dead they won’t care anyways .... things got a little heated and I won’t bother you all with the details but I ran out of swear words pretty quick

Is this the norm now ? Am I wrong in thinking someone’s last ride on this earth should be respected ?? I don’t even think you can say it’s how you were raised .. it’s just a common decency thing to do

I would love to know if I am wrong on this an it’s ok to cut through a funeral procession ?

You are 100% correct, a-hole move to cut thru the procession.

I was taught to pull over to the side of the road in both directions and still do.

I imagine the "employee" believes the world revolves around them. This isn't something new, these types have been around forever.

Always pull over and wait until the procession has passed. Unfortunately many don't and we actually had a municipality in our area whose PD will no longer do escorts. Crying shame...

This is not isolated to the younger generation so don't give me that. I'm young and understand the importance of the last ride. Most do. In recent years I've had to be in far too many family processions and every single time, someone cuts in, gets cut off, or someone gets mad when we cross through an intersection together, etc. MAN I GET HOT! Terrible time for it but man, it burns me up!

Had this happen to us a month ago. We were at a funeral service and left to head to the graveside service. About halfway there we follow thru a red light with everyone else. Our lights were on, there were about 25 cars. Going thru the intersection a middle age tough guy in a corvette convertible goes ballistic because we kept going and he had a green arrow to cut in front of us. To add fuel to the fire my BIL gives him the one finger salute. Then mr vette blows a gasket to catch up with us. He is the only guy driving on the road next to the procession, screaming and yelling at us to pull over and fight.....lol. We roll the window down and yell we are in a funeral. He instantly felt about 2 feet tall you could tell and apologized while pulling over to stop.

    Very disrespectful.

How about turning the lights on, and following the procession through the red light? OK ?

I'm not surprised by such behavior anymore. It's all about ME! But, I am very surprised that you ran out of swear words!
