    1993 Fast Strike 150 thermostats

My thermostats are stuck open and I was wanting to replace them. While researching parts and pulling my old stats I see differences. Mine are what I call "open" bodied thermostats, but the diagrams and parts pictures for the ones listed for my motor look like they should be in a plastic housing. Which should I order? I come up with a part number of 435491. Any of you run across this or have advice? And why the two designs?

That's the correct part number. We've had three thermostat changes since 1991 when these motors were new, to improve the cooling. One a total new design and then just a change in the spring.

You can order anything you want but what Jerry(316jughead) said is correct.

I thought I told you the ones to order, if you order the old style it will most likely change to the new number, if it doesn't then you've got the wrong number. But then Hell, what do I know?
