My older brother was taken to the hospital earlier, he has been sick for about a week, he thought he had the flu but when he went to the hospital earlier in the week they said he was dehydrated and had adult hand, foot, mouth disease. This morning he was apparantly unresponsive and had 105 degree fever. Just heard from my sister, they said he has double pneumonia and has an infection in his myocardial valve. They said the infection could have entered through his chemo port ( still has the port in, been cancer free for a couple of years) or it entered through his teeth. Said he will need about 6 weeks of IV antibiotics, and will be in the hospital for 2-3 weeks. If the antibiotics do not work, he will need heart surgery to replace the valve. So if you could add him in your prayers we would greatly appreciated.
