Update: They have determined that the infection came from his chemo port, they changed the antibiotics they were giving him to something that will work better. They are currently waiting for the surgeon to remove the chemo port, and the infectious disease doctor just told my mom and sister in law that he is critical, and at this point could go either way. I am absolutely dreading going out there after work, i know i need to, but i really don't want to!

Wife and i went to the hospital last night to see my brother, i was fine until we were 1 room away and i knew i wasn't going to be able to do it. Walked in the room, took one look at him and lost it, had to go stand in the hallway. Instantly took me back to 5 years ago seeing our dad like that. Closest i could get was to stand in the doorway. We did not stay long, went home, i fell asleep until 11pm, sister calls me crying, he had a stroke and they were doing emergency surgery. Got a text around 3am saying the doctor said the surgery went well, but they will not be able to tell if it caused any speech problems until they can take out the breathing tube. Needless to say, i did not get much sleep last night, it is going to be a long day at work.....
I understand your feelings. It can be very tough! Keep saying he is going to beat it to yourself. Hard to I understand,but think positive if at all possible. Will keep him in my prayers!
