Sensitivity of location for Ultrex antenna

Can anyone give me an idea of the flexibility I will have on a mounting location. I know I've had a little trouble with a Humminbird heading sensor being affected by the motor. I am wanting to mount the antenna in the place where a HB antenna was mounted from the factory. It is on the bow step pad. Any feedback will be appreciated!

The MinnKota heading sensor is a compass (magnet). You have to locate it so it is not affected by ferrous metals, magnets, and high current flow.
Then it needs a 12V connection with fuse and switch.

Where you want it and where it works properly may be two different places.
