    21 SS Prop Question

21ss 300r combo. I purchased a new 31xs Bravo, and seeing 17+% slip, plus hitting the limiter at 90. It gets to speed and the limiter pretty quickly.

I running between 1.5 to 1.75 above the pad.

Would cupping the prop, cut down slip and add speed?

I'm torn between trying to make prop work, or selling it since its only been ran once, before modifying it.

I will add the rear end is a little loose on big end, so I may have barrel cut down, on which ever prop I settle with.

You might need more prop, probably wouldn't be a problem if you had 1:62's

Pretty sure the 300R only has 1.75 gears available at this time?

My 29 bravo slips bad too. I’m also on the limiter at 84mph. There good fishing props but never gonna be a great top end prop. A Hydromotive quad x SST type A would be the best of both worlds for you I think. Hydromotive should be making those props again soon. From what I’ve found in testing props Hydro makes the best all around prop. For me the hole shot is just as good as bravo but topend is 3 to 4 mph faster and less slip. I do have a SHO though.

What kind of topend you seeing with new motor

Thanks Bradley. Did you ever have the bravo worked for the SS, did it help?

Top end so far is 93. Keep in mind all my numbers are with a heavy fishing load. The motor has way more in it.

Thats hauling the mail at anything above 90.

no I never had it worked but I bet if you got yours worked you could pic up some mph.

have you tried a promax yet? If so how was Holeshot with fishing load with the new merc.

I ran a 30 promax to 92. It had an exhaust ring added to the base of it to help with the big sporty. It wasn't bad out of the hole, but stood the bow straight up.

All props I've tested on the ss make is loose on the top end. I have a xob that has the barrel shaved to limit stern lift. It ran 89 and was solid as a rock. I plan to have this done to whichever prop I settle on.
