Exclamation The talking crankbait ... what a day ...

... the one from this thread I posted a couple of weeks ago - http://www.bbcboards.net/showthread.php?t=934158

It made good on it's promise today. Perfect fall fishing day - cloudy, slight breeze, 64* air temp and the bass had the feedbag on. I lost count at around 17 or so fish, the first few went for the lipless crank but the rest of them were all over the Bomber Fat A. My best crankbait day ever and I needed to get better with squarebills. I got the lipless ones down pretty well but my regular crank game needed work. This was a much needed confidence boost. Those Owner ST-36 trebles are no joke, they stay pinned.

    Here's a few highlights ...

This was the last fish of the day ... I was waiting for another boat to get done at the ramp and made a long cast just to kill time when this 16 1/2" one hit ... best one of the day.

So where did you fish? Everybody whines about lousy bass fishing in Jersey.

Newton Lake, which is a tributary of the Delaware River. I’ve caught (and have lost) some monsters there. Almost a year ago I had one right next to the yak that would have been my PB, easily 19-20” and 8 lbs. She unbuttoned herself and swam away without so much as a wave

Good. You'll try again and again to give that story a happy ending. Lots of jersey folks fish here, locally.
