    Zx225 owner question

I am planning to go pick up a new to me 2015 zx225 this week. The boat has a fortrex on the front. I am putting an ultrex up there ASAP. Has anyone done this and how has it impacted the fit of the cover? Thanks.

Yes most people have. It effects the cover, unless you go from a 52" Fortrex to a 45" Ultrex. That's what I did and it fits perfect.

I swapped my 52” fortex to a 52” ultrex. I think I could have used my cover the way it was, but it would have put a lot of downward pressure on the head. I took my cover and boat to a local upholstery shop and they cut the cover and built a pocket for the head to actually fit into. Works great now and travels very well.

What shop did you take it to? I may drop it off to them to modify on my way to Houston one day.

Did you have to leave your boat?

I did. They asked for it so that they could work it on the boat and make sure that it all fit like it should. Every boat has the motor mounted at a slightly different degree of angle.

I had some other work done, to make my cover fit in other places as well. They stretched it for my 2nd console and recut the back to fit for my 2nd power pole. Seems like to have the cover cut and redone for the troller, consoles, and rear was 5-600. That included some extra material for the rear. I'd call them first because he may need to order some extra material that mataches the original cover.

I went from a Fortrex to an Ultrex on my skeeter. The factory cover fits ok, just have to remember to stow the Ultrex with the prop facing out. That makes the head protrude inwards and then the cover fits.
