    G2 lower unit gear lube

As its getting closer to putting my boat away I was curious as to what everyone is using for gear case oil? Is it just a standard synthetic 90wt? I know you don’t have to change it every year but I’d rather be safe than sorry like this spring when I got a code 201 (water in the lower unit) on one of my first outings.

    See your dealer.

There is no electronic monitoring of the gear oi for water intrusion, only in the normally dry actuator area. Code 201 means Shift Position Sensor does not correlate with neutral switch. Check connectors and wiring. Perform electrical circuit tests. Check gearcase for presence of water in shift actuator cavity or damage to the shift actuator.
