    Anyone Smoked a Rump Roast

    Picked up a cheap rump roast tonight. For some odd reason I was thinking of trying to smoke it and see what happens tomorrow. Anyone ever tried it?

    I've done chuck roasts, cooked at 225-250 and smoked with mesquite.

    I'm sorry but beef roasts are just best cooked in a crock pot with a can of French Onion Soup and a can of Golden Mushroom on top.

    Pork takes smoke so much better, and it's half or one third the cost of beef roasts. Pork's what goes in my smoker.

    It wasn’t bad. Probably won’t do one again. Tasted just like a roast out of the crock pot but without all the gravy, etc.
