    To McClure Tomorrow

    What to pitch?

Going mainly to try out new flash, engine height, etc. Will fish of course. What to throw? I usually drop shot a pb&j 4".

My wife always goes, buy gets bored quick, so she gets a nightcrawler under a bobber.

Haven't been in awhile but the fall topwater bite can be good. Spots will bust em up over 100' of water.

Might try Natural Shad (Senko). Haven't been there in 3yrs but the spots loved it then.

Been a few weeks since we hit McClure. I'd throw medium cranks, and work jigs/finesse along points. We've always had good success off to the left of the main marina, back in the arm where the houseboats are parked right now.

Fish are pushing shad, are still somewhat deep, 20-60'. Fish sloping points up river with structure. Dropshot shad colored worms, Ned rig Cinnamon Blue Senkos. for numbers. Use Jerkbait and Spooks at sunrise. Go to a Green Pumpkin/Blue Jig with a Watermelon or GPumpkin trailer fished up hill for bigger fish. Big dish last sat was just under 3 but caught over 60 fish

McClure is solid right now. Lots off of fish to be caught.

Last week's trip produced great numbers, with a couple of 4lb chunks.

Be back there this weekend. What's hot and how deep?

Birthday weekend, sorry just seeing this.

We didn't have much luck with top water, but move down a bit in the column (20-35ft) and you should find plenty of fish to catch. Flukes, jigs, and a shaky head zoom worm (watermelon) is pretty much all i used our last trip out.

Working the left out of the main marina, and past the parked house boats. No shortage of fish lately - I'm hearing great things too about Don Pedro right now.

    How'd you do?

    Fish hate me.

I tried Cottonwood arm, Temperance and the south bank near the dam. Submerged islands and points 30-50’. Green pumpkin/red flake 4”. Red craw Texas rigged. shad swimbait, and even a 1/4 jig head on a grub. Nothing.

Thats funny !! Try drop shot Shad colors, hologram shad, blue shad, morning dawn in 4" or Neko rigged Senkos in greens or Cinnamon?blue on sloping points with chunk rock in 25-35' and you should catch em. Also, green jig with brown/purple and green pumpkin or watermelon red trailer fished up hill from 50' to 10'. Also, jigs on rocky cuts. The fish are gorging on shad and schooling up.

I guess that's why we call it fishing lol

But really though, that sucks to hear. Shad are definitely schooling right now. Hearing a lot of chatter about Don Pedro at the moment too.

Texas rigged zoom worm, in watermelon with a char tip has been producing great lately. But overall, most of what we're throwing is getting hit. My boys tossed a 5" grub all day and put several in the boat. Bass are definitely moving around right now.

Super fluke in shad colors has been a heavy hitter as well. Might try to get out again this weekend, pending if the ol man wants to do some striper fishing.

I read that. All lies! Haha

I’ll be staying up there again next week. I’ll try all the suggestions and report back.
