Have a new H-12 SI I will bow mount, it comes with transom mount. Was thinking of making or buying the transducer shield. Will I still need whatever the suppressor looking gizmo is ?

a rfi choke, it connects to the onboard charger and battery to help prevent rfi if its present...but no its not necessary

I’ve had cumstomers who called support and were sent one for free.
They will usually be included with the purchase of a trolling motor mega transducer
You can buy them separately from HB. A friend of mine bought one to see if it would help address a problem he was having with his Lowrance Carbon. Didn't work for him.
Think I have the part # somewhere if anyone needs it.
490482-1 is the part # for that choke.
No need to buy the transducer shield for $170 humminbird got their own trolling motor mount for less than $30 part number 740159-1

Also it's a strong plastic mount design which also helps reduce your chance of interference. I'm a huge fan and customer of Transducer Shield and Saver, I have one on my jack plate, but I use this Humminbird mount on the trolling motor. I've had it for 1 year now with no issues.

That mount is for the transom xdcr, not the bow xdcr, right?
The MEGA transom version and trolling motor version is the same transducer, just the included mount is different.
If you get the XTM transducer, it comes with the trolling motor adapter pictured.
The Transducer Shield and Saver is the same for both applications: TM-HX-3
The SOLIX MEGA SI transducer is the same size and shape also and uses the same mounts.
The 2D and DI transducers are the ones with different shapes for transom and trolling motor.
