03 Cougar, I have upraded to a 2015 250 Pro XS with a Torkmaster II lower unit. What is the max set back that Bass Cat feels good about with this combination. I have a six now. It is my understanding this gearcase likes more setback.
Right now the numbers are good with 6% slip with a 25 Fury 3 reworked by Ronnie Gilbert P to P is 3 1/4 now. 5900 at 76.9, 600 ft elevation and heavy load
70 deg water and air temps, empty live wells
Any negatives to running a 8 in plate

spacers would be cheaper for 2 inches more setback?

I believe they have stated 8" is max or the transom warranty goes away. Some were sold with 6", some with 8". They went to 8" to solve a sea star cylinder clearance issue. They've mentioned that on the owner's site from time to time. My 08 Classic has a slide master 8" plate. Note that they use a 6 bolt mounting scheme, not the usual 4". Several manufacturers have this as an option for BCB use.
