Well it looks like it's not going to fill, not yet anyway. Looks like it topped out at 1.53' low.

John , are you suppose to get any of the rain this week from the hurricane hitting Mexico? Our local weather men are saying most of Texas should get some amount of rain.

Received a notification that they will be opening 3-4 gates this morning on HC. It is full pool and expecting an influx of more water from yesterday's rain. Just hope they don't drop it much.

Most folks raising hell about the gates being open, hopefully they won't leave them open too long. A lot of the folks raising hell live on the lake.

I was told the other day they wouldn't open em this time until 1' over full due to the crap they took in 2016 for excess draw down. Sounded too good to be true to me.

All 6 gates were open at 7:30 a.m. this morning. At 11:00 they shut 3 gates. If that's the case more water is coming in than going out. That will only be the case for a few more hours I'd think. I hope they close 1 at a time in an attempt to keep it full.

They have closed all but one gate. Water still coming into the lake. Maybe they will let it stay a little above full.

Looks like they got it right this time. Sure glad this last influx was real slow so they could gauge it closely.

Here is their description as of this morning:

All gates are closed as of 8:00 am today, 11/2/2018. A total of 2,400 acre-feet of water was released during the past two days. The release was made to maintain the reservoir at the Conservation Level permitted by the TCEQ. Had the release not been made, the reservoir level would be only two inches higher than it is presently.

My question was why did they open the gates for 2” of water?
