Franklin's, as noted above. And don't miss the chili parlor downtown.

This. I ate at dozens of great bbq joints in tx, but nothing compares to Muellers brisket. It’s ridiculous.

Without a doubt; absolutely the best brisket I’ve ever had. The ribs & pork were great, as well, but that brisket...!!!

I ate at Lambert’s last week and it was really good. It’s fancy bbq with linen napkins. Had sausage, ribs, brisket, chicken and pulled pork. The banana pudding was out of this world. Didn’t have to drive or Uber, walked to from the hotel.

I'm going to check out Opies we spend Jan-April near Dripping Springs and often launch our kayaks at a park close to Spicewood that might make a great place to stop for a late lunch or early supper.

I was just there two weeks ago and wanted so bad to try Franklins but I wasn't gonna stand in line for hours to get it.
Talked to a lady picking up carry out and she said she had to called a month ahead for her order? Wow F- that.
As mentioned above many great bbq around there that are awesome. If you do make it to Franklins let us know if it was worth the wait.

Stiles Switch is my favorite. Blacks is excellent. Stubb's is excellent. Stop at Amy's for ice cream and pick up a pair of cowboy boots at Cavender's. Also might want to check out the Yellow Rose if you are with the guys, they're open until 4:00 am.

Franklin's or Stubbs in Austin, Black's in Lockhart. In San Antonio, my favorite place is the BBQ Station. 2 Bro's and Smoke Shack are great too. Rudy's is good, but it's not near as good as the others. Bill Millers is even worse, but it's still ok.

Franklins opens around 11 a.m., there is a line waiting for a least two hours or more.... no kidding. I've seen it. So. I went to What-A Burger and had a double meat and cheese burger instead.
