    Bed Sheet Suggestion

Looking to get a new set of sheets. Whch sheets offer cooling properties, longevity, and comfort?

I have have been doing some research and seeing lots of mention of cotton and microfiber.

Lets say priced under $80 for a queen sized set but if considerably less that would even better.

You can spend a ton on sheets and maybe it's worth it, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

If you have a Sam's membership, my wife and I have settled on the "expensive" Member's Mark branded variety that costs $70. They're very nice for all the right reasons, and most importantly they stay on the damn bed! They soften up considerably after the first wash and continue to do so with each wash for a while. I say that so you're not discouraged if you take them out and they feel a little scratchy. They also come with 4 pillow cases instead of 2 and they're actually big enough to fit whatever pillows you may have.

Those look good and so do the reviews but sadly we don’t have a Sams membership

I actually had looked into these. Any first hand experience? If so are they still holding up after multiple washings?

We’ve also been pleased with the nice sets from Sams. They hold up well. I’m sure you know someone with a membership.

Yep... Have a couple sets. First set was a gift; bought the second because I really liked them.

Comfortable from the git-go, summer or winter, and have held up well (not that they see a lot of action ).

Thread count, it's all about the thread count.

You just have to be careful with thread count. Companies have taken to using multi-strand "threads" to make their sheets, then adjusting the thread count accordingly. Suddenly those 200 thread-count sheets are 800 thread count because they used a 4 strand thread.

Higher threadcount sheets will feel better on the skin, but will increasingly hurt the wallet as the TC number increases.

The best sheets I own are bamboo. They are crazy soft, and I never get hot in them. I know she bought them from Amazon, but I don't remember the brand. They were cheaper than BB&B price, even with a coupon.

Microfiber - if you get dry skin in the winter, you might want to avoid them. Tried a set and they stuck to me like velcro on my hands and arms, where I have dry skin in the winter.

Do some research on Sheex. We've had them for several years. Crazy comfortable. Really, really like them.

Do some research on fiber counts, as has been said, many have come up with creative ways to up the count (and price).

I had some micro finer sheets, and after a year or so, they started to come apart, in that the micro fiber part that made them soft was coming off in the wash, which left a normal plain old sheet.

We bought some a few weeks ago at Costco. Complete sets, King size, 15.00. What a great deal. Have used them a number of times already and they are super.
