its a powertech ofx 21 pitch that come on the boat . just put a tpx 23 pitch running 61 @5400 , still playing with the jack plate
New to the Xpress family (Xpress Spanky encouraged me to not be shy after I PM'd him) so here goes! I just bought my Xpress H56 last week - and haven't been out except the water test the day I bought it. It's an '04 H56 with a Yamaha 115 2 stroke and an 6 inch manual jack plate. We easily ran mid 40's on the GPS with nice hole shot. I was too excited to take notes of the actual RPMs. Currently running a 17" pitch Honda prop that the previous owner replaced the Power Tech 19" with (still have as a spare). Xpress Spanky informs me that with a 21" I may see better top end, but like I said - I haven't gotten out since purchase date. I'll post more as I "tinker". Excited to get her out!!
Open to suggestions!
2015 x21, 2015 Suzuki 250ss, 112# Fortex, 10" Atlas Hydraulic, Dual Red Power Pole Blades. Still in break in but have seen 67 mph at 5600-5800 rpms, dealer recommended powertech 14.5 x 28p prop but not seein performance debating going to a 16" prop to capitalize on the zukes high gear ratio. anyone running a zuke on xpress
2015 Xpress H-22 Bay
2015 Yamaha F200LB
6” hyd. Jackplate
23” powertech
52MPH (gps) @ only 5150 rpm’s
Boat has a good hole shot, but can’t get any more RPM’s out of it. I believe I need to go down a size or two in props. I purchased a Yamaha four blade 20. I will post as soon as I get time to run it.
ANY suggestions welcome!!!
I have the same problem with mine. The boat shop told me that xpress would send me the right prop, so I guess they need to lay off the hooch up there.
I wouldn't put any faith in Xpress on sending the right prop
Turns out that xpress has had some issues with the guys setting up the throttle cables. Most likely our problem is the cables need adjusting. Taking mine in tomorrow, having throttle cables adjusted and a JP installed. I'd bet jguin is having the same issue
I was told to check my throttle cables... everything looks like its opening all the way. I ill take it by the dealer tomorrow o verify. I was told by my dealer that xpress has been putting too big of props on the h-22 bay. I just bought a four blade prop will be able to run the boat in a few hours. I will post the results..
what 4 blade prop? there are many different 4 blades and they are all not the same...
It's a yamaha 13 3/4 x 20.. didn't get good
what powertech prop would you all recommend for my h-22 bay.
the ONLY one I'd run is a powertec TRO4 which is their copy of a real trophy. I run a trophy and Yamaha pro series 4 blade. If you want 3 blade, also try a pro series 3 blade - I ran one of those but liked the 4 blade better on my set up.
What is your prop to pad height? I'd test all these props starting at 3.5" below pad and go up/down from there. My boat likes 3.75-3.5" below until I'm wide open then is likes up to 3.25"ish

jguin - read this thread http://www.bbcboards.net/xpress-boat...pest-fury.html I don't know why you are stuck on powertec. read around on the Xpress threads - no one likes the way they run on these hulls. save yourself the headache and time and try props everyone is getting success with.
My boat came with powertec, and they will exchange. So if I can find something they offer that will give me "ok" performance I will use it as a spare.
tro4 will be the only powertec worth it. I tried my dads powertec 4 blade (I forget the letters but it wasn't a tro4) and it did not do well at all. I was told by powertec that the 3 blade that came with it was running perfectly and I won't get any better....I'm running 5 mph faster than their "perfect" prop. I sold mine ptec online to offset the cost of a new prop
I wouldn't expect much from xpress except a boat rushed out the door. Even tho it take 8+ weeks.
Wires/hoses in in back were a tangled mess. Charger laying unmounted in bilge. No drain hose on 2 compartments in back. Holes in decks for complements out of square. Many lids hammered for clearance issues. Vent for steering pump was below helm. Transducer too low (sprayed water all over cowling). transducer wire pinched under oil tank bracket. no beep when key on (may be normal haven't investigated). removed everything expect fuel tank and correct most of this. Also many tie clippings and metal shavings. It all functioned but should have been cleaner.
There are many good things about the boat too. Hull performs well. Seats comfortable. Nice live well. And much more.
Just got my 2015 h18 pro with new 12/12 produced Yamaha 150hpdi w/6" man jack plate. At hour 3 in break in I've got 54.8 on gps. 5600 rpm 5-1/16" below pad. ?? Powertec (can't find pitch haven't had it off tho).edit: powertec ofx3 23 pitch
