Thanks for the pics. Do you get high-speed readings?

No not with TD mounted on the jack plate been going to put a y cable on and try using the one mounted in the hull. You want be able to run SI at high speed thou.

I bought the transducer switch and wired it to the transducer that shoots thru the hull, works like a charm.

kk4iz, Does that ram mount hold that big of a depth finder steady? I just bought a Lowrance X135 and was looking at getting that type of mount to put on my front deck so I can swivel it to be able to see it while running or just idling around.

    Re: (TPM)

no problem with the large mount on ruff water and over 70 mph

ram mounts are awesome, but they can make your graph a little harder to see on rough water.

i would recommend them every time though.

Re: Hummingbird Si mounting pictures (kk4iz)

I've got the Transducer for the Elite-5 DSI mounted on my hull, just above the step, and it just looks to vunerable. I like the idea of having it on the jack plate, but you mention no readings at high speed, just exactly how fast are you going b/f you loose signal?

This is also for an Xpress X21.

Anything above 20 MPH. Thanking about putting in a Y cable and trying to use the AlumaDucer at higher speeds but have not yet Let me know how yours work. Post some pictures of yours.

Is the only advantage of mounting the SI ducer on the plate to protect it?

    looks great.
curious what you have on the bow.
thinking of ram mounting a 998 on the console but wanted to bow mount a 798 in the bow where my lowrance sits (skeeter '06).
What do you show upfront and would you suggest a ram mount 998 upfront too?

Re: Hummingbird Si mounting pictures (still_learning!!!)

HB 788c not on a Ram mount because up front bu wish we had a 997 o998 up front because of my old eyes with a 1198 at the console. If or when we put a 997 or 998 up front it would have to mounted on a Ram mount.

FYI....I mounted mine on the standard transom location and it was gone the first time that I put it in the water. My next one will be on the jackplate!!!

Slightly modified the Transducer Saver to allow it to sit behind the transom mounted unit. Works flawlessly.
