    Re: X19 Speeds (xpress_blake)

I have a faria speedo in my boat, and I can turn those kinds of rpms, but it doesn't get much over 60.

You gotta admit, that would seriously warp someone's mind if they rode with you.

    Re: X19 Speeds (Lockjaw)

I met a guy at the ramp one day that had a new Stratos 18 something foot (285 I think). Anyway, he had a Yamaha F150 fourstroke just like mine but with a 23M. I was just curious so I asked what kind of speed he was getting. He said he was getting 65 mph. I thaught to my self "possible, but not likely" then he said "yeah and if I get 3 people in the boat, it will run 70mph!" I asked him if that was what his speedometer read. He said "yep sure is!" very proudly. I just replied, "that's awesome" I just couldn't break his heart. he was so proud of his new rig and the crappie he was catching in his new BASS boat!

But, I don't even know why they put speedometers in boats. If it an't gps'd then you really have no idea how fast you are going. I have a yamaha digital speedo in mine and it is always with in 2-3 mph of my gps. When it works. the little hole in the motor is always getting stoped up. I have given up and only us my gps now.

    Re: X19 Speeds (21XDC)

I have a x19 ts with a 200hp efi 3.0 Merc on the back, and my speedo looks like the one Mike posted. I can be running 5200 rpm It looks like im doing 85 mph. I think I am only doing 65 or 68 mph. I am not sure how fast my boat really is. All I know is I raced a Triton 21 foot bass boat with a 225xs on the back and the boats were even. We both had two people in our boats, after we stoped he came over and asked about my boat, he had never seen an Xpress He thought his boat should be faster. His comment was that is an aluminum fishing boat. Thanks

    Re: X19 Speeds (NoodleRodDude)

Yeah I ran a triton 186 with a 150 merc and was faster. Not by much. I got the biggest gain on the hole shot then he just couldn't catch me.

    Re: X19 Speeds (xpress_blake)

I have a basshawk that is water logged, and a 97 200 looper. It says on my Faria that I run about 63 or 64 depending on what prop and how low the gas is.

    Re: X19 Speeds (Lockjaw)

    I also thought 200 Merc's were 2.5's not 3 litre's.

My looper ought to be able to pull 6300 rpms or so on a light boat. With a 25 pitch prop and those kinds of r's, it ought to fly.

The 2003 and new efi Merc motors are 3.0 liter motors. Dennis

    Re: X19 Speeds (21XDC)

Mike we would sit at the table together and drink from our steins and laugh at all others who try! I have my "Stinky Finger" as I named her tuned in just right, you'd be surprised what my copy-cat boat can do...... but I am right there with you now...

Other day heading with a 5mph wind, medium load, just me, 60% humidity, 76 degrees 82.8mph.....

But as far as this xpress with a 200 that will race, lets do it....
