    Cold Weather Jacket

I am in the market for a cold weather jacket (Obviously water proof). I fish in Tennessee throughout the winter so I am not in need of something for Artic temperatures but I do fish in 30-40 degrees quite often. What are some good jackets in that $200-250 price range. Thanks

I've been very pleased with my BPS 100MPH jacket. Zip out liner if you don't need it. And the bibs are excellent. The Pro Qualifier also looks like it will hold up well. I also have a Columbia Bugaboo II that I wore before I bought the 100MPH. Warm, dry, zip out liner.

Personally, I prefer to wear my BPS Pro Qualifier rain suit (top and bottom) and layer underneath it with base layer, quarter zip thermal, hoodie. If it's really cold I'll zip a north face fleece into the rain jacket with that combo.

If you want something just for daily, non fishing wear that looks better, it's hard to be a North Face Jacket. If you get the 3 in 1 type with the removable fleece liner, it can be zipped into the rain jacket as stated above.

Check out Mountain Hardwear. Same company as Columbia, and a lot of really high quality stuff with excellent waterproof capabilities. Lifetime warranty as well.

The wife got me a Milwaukee Tools electrically heated jacket. It comes with a vest that includes the elements and holds the M-12 battery. The jacket is incredibly warm without the vest but i did wear the vest a couple time out in snow and it keeps you toasty. I am also going to get some tools that use the same battery and charger.

Get you a Cabela's Guidewear Insulated Parka and Bib overalls. Each are about $250 plus each. Johnny will be phasing them out pretty soon I expect.

Could you recommend a certain jacket for fishing? I love their stuff.

Get you a goose down jacket. I have one and love it. Super light and very warm. Get the highest fill power you can afford.

I'm not real big on heavy coats. I have a Stearns nylon parka ( weighs 1 lb) I bought it years ago off of a rack that had snowmobile suits. -10 with just a TShirt on under it and I'm warm.

If I could just drop a few pounds and get it to zip again.

Simms kinetic jacket is real nice or the fall run jacket. I usually just wear that and a hoody and good to go.

Fished in a cold rain this past Saturday. Stayed dry and warm for the 5 hours it rained.
