My last house backed up to 100 acres of green space, and I had an incredible pile of leaves every Fall to blow into the woods. I also have a lakehouse with a bunch of Oak trees. I have an Echo backpack blower that I quit using because it simply wore me out.

Switched to a Hitachi handheld gas yard blower, and it's much easier to deal with. And it came with a long, long warranty.

My new house has two medium size maple trees in the front yard, but they throw out small leaves. I would be buying a lithium battery blower if I was just needing a blower for general yard use here.

I use a zero turn mower to chomp leaves at my lake house, and blow them into a big pile. Then I shovel the powdered leaves into my truck bed. As I drive around a few days, the leaves mostly disappear.

just a thought, get the back pack style even if you have only a small area. I got the smaller sling over the shoulder kind and it not as comfortable or easy to use and the back pack style.

It's over the $200 but the new rechargeable Stihl is great! I have this one and wouldn't own a gas power again. Might not be as strong as a commercial backpack type blower but it's good enough for around the house.

Been running a Husqvarna BT350 backpack blower for a few years now. No issues with it. I'd buy one again.

Thanks guys. I would really rather go with battery powered. Use it go blow off grass after mowing and cleaning gutters mostly. I do have a bunch of maples, but I normally use a lawn sweeper to get rid of those leaves.

If you have Ryobi power tools, get their battery blower. Use the bigger battery. Usually in the fall, home Depot runs a special - two of the big lithium batteries for the price of one .

I ponied up and got the Sthil BR 600. The thing is amazing and I get my work done in a fraction of the time you will with the little blowers. You going to stand there all day with a $200 model.

I have had several leaf blowers under $200. I still have one, but I bought a Red Max 8500 backpack blower---- because the leaves are 5 inches thick in the grass and two foot high against a stone wall in the driveway.

This spring my nephew bought a Milwaukee 9ah leaf blower and a 9ah String trimmer. He has a Stihl weed trimmer and a Stihl leaf blower. His yard is 9 acres --- he said he was tired of dragging the weight around. He was suprised he could do the whole yard on one charge. His cost was $300 for both items.

As I get older, I may go that route.
