Heard of the place, but how many lakes can there be there? Just go to the one that's got a lot of rocks.

Been going there for 10+ years now, this past years trip was my best ever. We were tossing back 3lb-4lb smallies like they were trash fish......

    I caught 27 smallies that were 5lb+ and I had four one day limits of 5 smallies that were 25lb+ (25lb 12oz, 26lb 2oz, 26lb 8oz and 27lb 12oz)

the other positive thing about erie is the amount of world records swimming around...fish up to 9.7 lbs are not uncommon....

No sir. My partner did really good too. I spoiled him for his first time up there!

I'm looking for a 7lb+ smallie, I'm going to try some other places up north this spring that aren't on everyone's radar like LSC is nowadays....

    265 in one day?

It’s disappointing he would make a claim like this, after being told a million times not to exaggerate.

note: that place can be real finicky, even in May. It's not what it used to be for sure!....I have caught tens of thousands of smallies up there (been fishing it since mid 80's), and the fishing pressure has beat it up pretty good!

If you're really open to driving, I'd recommend the Canadian side of Lake of the Woods, say around Kenora, ON. It's so stupid easy to catch smallmouth up there, and it's an absolute blast. Call your shots: "Looks like there should be one on that rock right there.....yep, there he is!" Even the "worst" days (excepting extremely cold water temps) you'd be disappointed to only catch 40 or 50. All you really need is a bunch of cheap 1/4 oz jig heads and some grubs in different colors, but of course all the standard bass baits work great too. That's where the Z-Man guys take new baits to test them out, particularly the Ned rig stuff. Plenty of places to get out of the wind if it comes up, and world class walleye, muskie, pike, and crappie fishing to boot if you want a change of pace.

Can't go wrong with Rainy either. Canadian side has more windy day options and better fishing.

It's a big claim, but the math isn't quite that lopsided. 265 in one day is a little over 22 per hour for 12 hours, or a little less than one every 2.5 minutes. I think you divided the 22 by 60 minutes instead of 60 minutes by 22. If someone did pull off one every 36 seconds for 12 hours, that'd be 1,200!
