    Phoenix Carpet

What do you guys think about the carpet on your boats? I've been looking at Phoenix hard, but the last couple ones I've looked at the carpet looked a little lackluster on boats that were only a year old. Granted, the guys that ran the boats fish a LOT, but I still thought it looked a little worn down for such a short period of time.

I LOVE my boat, but I am not a big fan of the carpet. I do use a brush to get it fluffy again, but to be honest the carpet quality is not their strong suit. I'd love to do seadek on my next one if I can make that work :)

I shampooed mine with a soft scrub brush and a squirt bottle of cleaner then power washed it lightly and it looks like new!!

yea, but even the new stuff looks cheap! It's definitely not as nice as my previous boats!

Is this a boat with the padding and could that be the reason some of it looks bad? I know when I bought mine there was discussion about who had the best quality padding which can affect how good/bad the carpet looks.

I think Phoenix uses 16 ounce carpet, whereas some of the other manufacturers use 24 ounce carpet. Seems logcal that the 16 ounce carpet would wear more quickly.
I could be wrong, but that’s what I recall.

I love my bird but the carpet is crap. Seems like nearly every other brand has better carpet. Im meticulous about my boat but theres nothing you can do to keep the carpet looking good. Even if you follow all the steps to get it fluffy again, you walk on it once and its matted back down. The carpet, the crappy design on the butt/sit down seats not coming out and livewell not draining fully are my only complaints. Ranger uses the same seat designs, so its not limited to phoenix. If i had another brand thered be other gripes. Just have to pick what suits you best

the carpet sucks that is the biggest downside to phenoix in my opinion. had anyone replaced theirs with a heavy grade? i had thoughts about it but not sure the lids would close ok?

Carpet is not that offensive to me but its not great and hooks get hung in it much worse than on my Skeeter.

I bought my Phoenix 721 for its great dry ride, fishability, storage, tournament set up and bang for the buck. Carpet was so far down on my list the padded deck was a bonus. Get the Phoenix. You won’t regret it. Wear the carpet out and upgrade to the carpet you want. OR buy the boat that has the plush carpet you want. My $0.02 You won’t regret buying a Phoenix bass boat.

The cost difference between 18 and 24 weight on a 21 foot boat is less than 200 bucks. Disappointing that they went this route.

On the bright side, it dries out faster after a rain storm than any other boat I've owned.

The carpet is a weak spot. I fish a lot and it's not bad, not great but not bad. If I dont sell mine before it needs new stuff it will get 24oz. I will trim the compartment sides if I need to

You are right about that - actually a very big plus that I have noticed as well.
