    Gas tank vent

2008 496. I was recently out pitching around some docks and a rope caught on the gas tank vent. The piece that is mounted next to the gas tank fill up. It broke the cap part off and now there is just a hole into the fitting. Does any one know if this part is replaceable? I wish I was able to post a pic here. Thanks

It looks similar to that but not exactly. But mine was a black plastic piece. Thanks for the number. What time do they come in today?

After some research, it looks like the Atwood fuel vent replacement cap.

Correct but you can switch them out there’s about five of us that have went to the new style because the old ones kept breaking on a dock

Yes you may have to open the hole up in the boat just check the size for fit

Contacted Jim today. He is going to be getting me a vent sent out today. What did you guys find the best way to open the hole up? And how much does it need? I was thinking of a dremel or using a conical steppes still bit. I don’t want to damage the gel coat though. Also, what is the best way to access that fitting on my 08 496?

Take top chrome vent plate off it will be right there .Step bit if you have one that big or a dremel or a hole saw backwards to start works also.just take your time.

I think I have a conical stepped bit large enough. Probably start that in reverse.
