mercury has a miss and low idle speed

mercury serial number od198941 I just had the carbs rebuilt and new stator put on I been having trouble starting it after running it letting it sit for a while it .so picked it up yesterday and it ran great then 3 hours later I came off plane and it started having a miss.but would still jump back up so would switchboxes cause this this and is there a simple way to check them thanks .

Good starting point is to inspect coils, plug wires and spark plugs for any abnormalities, leaks, cracks, or fouled plugs.

Is there a way to test the coils. i checked plugs and wires.

Good starting point is to replicate the complaint, and then using a timing light, check for spark (clear and steady flashing pattern) while connected to each of the six plug wires.

Irratic (or non-existent) flash is an indicator of a potential problem.
